yabomania.blogspot.com's extra-special one-year anniversary

Yes, I am not lying. One year ago today, I got the idea to start a blog. I thought it would be fun. And it has been. I have enjoyed having this place as a home to come to. This is something I created and I love being able to always to come here and write my thought.

Part of this celebration includes the latest poll. Guest-Writer. There were 19 hours left on the poll, but I needed to get this post in, so I stopped it. The winner at time of closing was Joshua. He wrote a post. Here it is:

Attention YaboMania readers, I have just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you to stop what you're doing and listen...CANNONBALL! This is Josh's Junction returning for round two and as such I will first proclaim my appreciation for "Mr.Yabo" letting me guest write on such a prominent page. Now let us get down to business and good ol' fashioned blogging! If any of you readers in Yabo land have picked up a newspaper in the past few days--you already know--YABOMANIA IS TURNING 365 DAYS OLD! For all of you slow readers keeping score at home (I'm looking at you, Chase) this is the one year anniversary of the blog that started it all. A lot has happened over the past year, we have all grown a little older, a little wiser, and a little more dependent on technology and Federal bailouts. But who is to say it hasn't been a phenomenal year? Congratulations "Mr. Yabo" on your continued successes with the blog and I wish you the best for the future.Per "Mr. Yabo's" request and in keeping with the tradition of this remarkable blog, I will now inform all loyal readers of the current happenings in my life. Well the fourth semester of my collegiate career is coming to a close, as such my in box is stacking up. It's rough but it comes with the territory of higher learning (haha I get a kick when I call it that). I must say that I am pretty disappointed in the way Nebraska baseball has been performing this year, but the Red Sox are hot right now which makes it easier to stomach. It seems the University and its fans have set their sights on football, but that's alright. I was at the spring game last weekend and the environment and optimism was wild. I am excited to see how Bo will perform in the autumn. We need to reclaim our rightful place on top of the Big 12. While there are a lot of critics out there, I must say I am addicted to Twitter. I don't know how its appealing but I absolutely love it. No worries Pepsi Co, Mountain Dew remains my number one vice (I am contractually obligated to mention Pepsi/Mountain Dew 4 times a day and will use my blog platform to satisfy these requirements). I feel I gave readers enough of a window into my life for now but "Dad's Dilemma" taught me to end with a story to keep readers wanting more. That's Hollywood 101, folks. Last fall on a road trip to Oklahoma, we stopped at Oklahoma State for some Halloween festivities. When we got to the shin dig we immediately started chatting up the ladies. One says "Where are you guys from?" to which we reply "Nebraska." A blank expression covers her face at this point to which she, and I am quoting her verbatim, replies "Nebraska? Never heard of it." Kids and followers of this very blog, heed this warning: Cowboys and cowgirls are not bright people. That's it for me folks. Stay clean, stay classy. Clones, I'm out. Joshua Klostermeyer

He has a lot to say. I guess it runs in the family! A lot of things have happened on this blog. For example: 3 0 Days of Christmas! That was fun, I plan on doing it again. 200th post is coming soon. 100th post was insane. Remember that "Joshness" story? That ended abruptly. I am a little interested in re-starting it, but I think it would not be good because everyone might've forgotten about it. Last summer, i had a topic everyday. That was awesome. I liked my topics. Cows, Clintons, its been fun! It sound like to me like I'm saying good-bye or something. I'm not. I'm staying here for as long as possible. THank you for all of your support to this blog and I hope i continue to please you with my yabo-ness and i'll talk to you later!!! twitter.com/rockstarmania.

Color M Gone,

Zach

I am appalled by the social favoritism that has taken place here. I do not believe that Josh's Junction won the poll. As far as I am concerned that was a biased vote by the "Yabo" household. I do believe that someone new was tied with Josh's Junction so i believe you should drag someone new into the picture. Mister Yabo, It is only fair that you would appoint another (new) guest writer.

For a new guest writer I suggest Nancy's Niche. Niche meaning a place or position particularly suitable to the person or thing in it. I think it is time for a new writer, rather than reusing a writer, unless that is Chase's Corner, that was just such an amazing segment I think there should be another one. However, I would be open to the new writer concept.
