Prospero Ano y Felicidad.
iHola! This is my very first movie review. My movie reviews have two sections: Plot and Performances. I will take in to account the plot of the movie (without the "Spoiler Alert" since SOMEBODY, not mentioning names, Chase, hates it.) Then I will use Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia, for specific names for specific actors, and write about their performances. So now, please enjoy my very first movie review!
Plot:
The Blind Side. A blind side is an offensive football strategy has evolved over the past three decades in large part due to Lawrence Taylor's arrival in the 1980s and how this evolution has placed an increased importance on the role of the left tackle. Left tackle-the position Michael Oher played at the University of Missouri. That explains the title. However, the movie dives into more than just football. The Blind Side, based on Carl Lewis' novel, "The Blind Side: The Evolution of the Game," which is based on real life, follows the journey of Michael Oher and the Tuohy family. After seeing him walking alone on a cold, rainy night, Leigh Anne Tuohy, despite her husband's hesitation, takes in Oher and lets him sleep in their home for the night. After he spends a few days with the Tuohy's, Leigh Anne realizes that Michael has nowhere to go. They drive down to his home, known as "Hurt Village," an obviously dangerous environment for Michael to be living in. The Tuohy's finally decide that it would only be right if they adopt Michael and make him part of their family, and it all evolves from there.
The Blind Side is a truly inspiring real-life story of the Tuohy's adopting a boy in need. The screenplay, adapted by John Lee Hancock (also the director,) is believable, as it should be. Great job, Mr. Hancock.

Performances:
Great performances all around.
Sandra Bullock as Leigh Anne Tuohy- I'm a big fan of Sandra Bullock. On my Facebook profile, three of her movies- Miss Congeniality, The Proposal, and The Blind Side- are all of my favorites. This is, by far, her best performance. Bullock has taken a turn to dramatic side of acting more than once (i.e. Crash, Premonition,) but this is the first time I think she will get individual honors for her performance. Bullock's performance is honest and this movie has given Bullock the chance to prove herself as a dramatic actress.
Tim McGraw as Sean Tuohy- Tim McGraw's performance was just ALMOST as good. McGraw was always there for comedic relief, but in a scene he shares with his new adoptive son Michael, McGraw's true acting talents are shown. And in a kissing scene with Sandra Bullock, I have no doubt in my mind that Faith Hill got her Granny Panties in a bunch. I'm just saying.
Kathy Bates as Miss Sue- Michael's tutor. HILARIOUS! Oscar Winner Bates again proves that she has acting chops to handle any role, big or small.
Quinton Aaron as Michael Oher- Not bad for Aaron's very first movie. Aaron stands at 6'10" and is beastly. He does fantastic as a gentle giant whose had a very rough life.
Lily Collins as Collins Tuohy- The Tuohy's only daughter. A small part. Her character struggles to cope with the attention she gets having a new, adoptive brother, let alone an African-American one.
Ray McKinnon as Coach Cotton- Part-time Football coach, full-time Buzz-Kill. At first, you see Coach as more than a coach, as a man who wants the best for the homeless boy with a sad predicament. As the movie progresses, you see a more selfish side of Coach, and wonder if he only wanted Michael for his football team after all. A believable performance.
Kim Dickens as Mrs. Boswell- Mrs. Boswell is one of the many teachers who doesn't want Michael in their school. After being convinced by Coach Cotton, Mrs. Boswell and the rest give in. Boswell is one of the few teachers who realizes Michael is more than meets the eye, and she helps him through school. Kim Dickens makes the most of her small role. Good acting.
Adriane Lenox as Denise Oher- Michael's crackhead mother. Lenox's portrayal is fantastic, even if her only scene was 5 minutes long. She portrays a woman who regrets making mistakes, and wishes the best for her children, even if she can't provide it for him.
Jae Head as SJ Tuohy- Arguably the funniest character in the movie.
Great performances all around in this movie. Definitely one of my favorites! And, you can check, I did this review by myself, I did NOT get it from any other website. Believe it. The only thing I got was one sentence from WikiPedia. It has the highlited words.
Color Me Gone,
